Construction management services for the retrofit of 15,000 square feet of an existing space in a 91-year-old building into a two-story, high-end customer lounge with a monumental stair with seating capacity of 350. The project was constructed within a historic building and the new store front design was coordinated with Landmarks and the Historic Preservation Authority. The project was turned over in 19 weeks, including abatement, demolition and new construction. BIM/Revit technology was used to scan and survey the existing conditions of the building.
More than 100,000 people a day travel in and around the station. The lounge build took place directly in the heart of the main pedestrian traffic routes and the main command center for all incoming and outbound trains was located directly over the construction site. Clune coordinated and developed site-specific logistic/ protection plans and also implemented detailed methods of procedures for all of critical infrastructure work. With these plans and procedures in place, the work effort was completed with zero incidents on-site and the team was able to help maintain 100% uptime to the command center, which operates 24/7.
