Bosque County data center celebrated by community in “topping out ceremony’

A “topping out” ceremony for CyrusOne’s $1.2 billion data center brought Bosque County residents and company officials to a 250-acre dig expected to become an economic dynamo. Chicago-based Clune Construction serves as general contractor, and officials said they strive to hire locals, though that task is daunting when considering the sparse population.

Christa Reed, director of strategic growth at Clune Construction, said Clune pursues employees locally, but has cast its net beyond Bosque County to Waco and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. She said employment during construction could grow to more than 1,000.
