Clune Construction Continues Culture of Promoting From Within As Eight Are Promoted in Chicago

Chicago, IL – May 17, 2023 – Clune Construction (Clune) is proud to continue its long-standing tradition of promoting from within by announcing the promotion of eight exceptional leaders in its Chicago office to executive-level positions.

Luis Delarosa, Andy Holub, Rico Cazares, Mike Culhane, Spencer Framke, James Holt, Jack Murphy, and Ben West received promotions in acknowledgment of their substantial contributions to Clune and their pivotal role in the company’s future growth.

“Throughout their time here at Clune, each of these individuals has demonstrated what it takes to lead our company into the future,” said Dave Hall, CEO of Clune Construction. “They have delivered excellence for our clients and served as role models and mentors for our employee-owners. I look forward to working with each of them as we continue to move Clune forward.”

Luis Delarosa was promoted to Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller. He started at Clune in 2015, bringing 15 years of accounting experience with him. Delarosa played a pivotal role in the implementation of the firm’s “One Clune” initiative. During his tenure, Delarosa’s knowledge and experience have allowed him to proactively work with his team to find solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Delarosa has a B.S. in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University.

Andy Holub has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Pre-Construction Services. Holub oversees all Chicago projects during the pre-construction phase. He also manages Chicago’s Self-Perform division and Service Department, assisting clients with their immediate needs. A graduate of Clune’s Vistage Leadership Program, Holub has a B.S. in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.

Rico Cazares was named to Vice President, Senior Superintendent. Cazares began his career in construction as a Union Carpenter over 20 years ago. He joined Clune as a Superintendent in 2016 and transitioned to the Mission Critical team a year later. Throughout his tenure, Cazares has demonstrated his ability to run a highly organized job site. He has become well-known in the Chicago area for his ability to manage trade partners and his dedication to his projects.

Mike Culhane was promoted to Vice President, Senior Project Manager. He has worked with Clune for over 12 years, serving much of his tenure on Clune’s Mission Critical team. He has a reputation for being dependable and positive, which translates directly to his team’s successes on some of the firm’s most complex data center projects. Culhane is a member of the 7×24 Exchange, DICE Midwest, and the Healthcare Engineers Society of Northern Illinois. He holds a B.A from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

James Holt has been promoted to Vice President of Virtual Construction. His knowledge and expertise in the latest technologies and updates to Virtual Construction have enabled him to provide exceptional services to Clune’s clients. James oversees the implementation of Virtual Construction processes nationally, ensuring a consistent Clune product. Holt holds a B.A from National Louis University, a UAS Pilots License, and is Trimble, Revit, and Navisworks certified. He is also an active ACE Mentor Program Chicago member and volunteers for Rebuilding Together.

Spencer Framke was named Vice President, Senior Superintendent, Team Lead. With more than 37 years of construction industry experience, Framke joined Clune in 2012 as a Superintendent on the Healthcare team. He has been instrumental in building Clune’s Healthcare division and establishing its market presence. Framke served five years active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps and is now an active member of the Marine Corps League, serving as an officer in the Calumet Detachment. He is also a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

Jack Murphy was promoted to Vice President, Senior Project Manager. He started with Clune as an intern in 2015. After graduation, Murphy joined the team full-time and began working with Clune’s Mission Critical group. Rising through Clune’s ranks at a very young age, Jack quickly proved that he had the skills and the knowledge to lead a team on several major data center construction projects nationwide. Murphy has a B.S. in Technical Systems Management from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is actively involved in the 7×24 Exchange – Great Lakes Chapter.

Ben West was named Vice President, Senior Superintendent, Team Lead. With over 30 years of experience, West has demonstrated his expertise in the Healthcare and Mission Critical sectors. His portfolio consists of various complex projects, including hospitals, medical office buildings, trauma units, and some of Clune’s most high-profile data centers. West is an active member of ACE Mentor Program Chicago.

“Over the years, it has been amazing to watch all of these individuals embrace their roles at Clune,” said Vince Gutekanst, Clune’s President of the Midwest Region. “I am proud to see each of them progress in their careers and I congratulate them on their deserving promotions.”

Clune is proud of its culture of promoting from within. Many officers started with the company as interns. The average tenure of a Managing Director is 17 years and 20 percent of Clune’s employees have been with the company for over 10 years. This culture has also contributed to Clune’s consistent placement nationally in numerous “Best Places to Work” rankings.
