200 Park Avenue Lobby
The iconic MetLife building underwent a major renovation to breathe new life into the massive lobby and concourse level. A new visitor reception lounge with high-end slatted millwork ceilings and walls was added onto the lobby level as well as new Eastside storefronts. New storefronts were featured beneath the refreshed solid bronze transom panels on the concourse level. All of the center retail stores were removed to create an expansive center passage directly through from 45th street to Grand Central. The interior columns are clad in light travertine and the floors will be finished with epoxy terrazzo to modernize the space. The double height central lobby facing Grand Central features an impressive central vestibule with a striking multicolored Albers Mural above. The updated aesthetic of the lobby extends to the 45th street entrance by continuing the new flooring outside and recladding the exterior columns.
