Renovation of an existing two-story building and vertical expansion to create a new third floor for the world’s oldest and largest provider of distance learning for people who are blind or visually impaired. The new floor increased the building’s square footage by nearly 25%. Clune constructed a high tech virtual reality room, installed an elevator and accessible restrooms, expanded the boardroom, and added new conference rooms and common areas for collaboration, community outreach and education. Clune also worked around three separate existing structural systems to update the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Exterior work consists of new masonry veneer on the building façade, new windows and a new roof.
